Congratulations to Prof. Oren Gazal-Ayal and Dr. Yifat Aran on being awarded the prestigious Cheshin Award for Academic Excellence in Law. Professor Gazal-Ayal received the award in the senior researcher category, while Dr. Aran was recognized in the young researcher category.

Prof. Oren Gazal-Ayal former Dean of the Faculty of Law, is a foremost authority in criminal law and procedure, sentencing law, and law and economics. The Award committee recognized his pioneering legislative reforms for their substantial contributions to Israeli society and for his outstanding legal scholarship that showcases both profound expertise and remarkable empathetic insight.

Dr. Yifat Aran specializes in corporate law, governance, and securities regulation, with an emphasis on venture capital and entrepreneurship. Her research aims to redefine the boundaries between corporate and securities law, and labor law. The Award Committee highlighted her leadership in innovative research and publications in top journals, as well as her promising Israel Science Fund (ISF) research proposal.
