Prof. Eli Somer Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award for Pioneering Trauma Research

 

Congratulations to Prof. Eli Somer (Department of Social Work) upon being selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Israeli Society for Sexual Trauma Treatment & Prevention (ISTT), a division of the Israeli Medical Association. The award recognizes his pioneering contributions to the diagnosis and treatment of sexual trauma. Prof. Somer is also known for coining the term “maladaptive daydreaming” in 2002, a compulsive condition affecting 2% of the population that disrupts social, family, and occupational functioning.
