President Robin speaks at the Lanesborough Hotel in London.
President Ron Robin delivered an insightful lecture on the war with Hamas at the historic Lanesborough Hotel in London on the 31st October. Professor Robin was invited to speak by long-standing friend of the University and a member of the Board of Governors, Bob Amsterdam, who hosted the event for an audience of 35 selected guests.
Professor Robin offered his perspective on the wider context of the war and the steps that led to the tragic massacre on the 7th October. He then considered some of the ways the conflict may play out, and assessed the concerning rise in antisemitism that the recent events has triggered. He ended by describing the efforts the University is making in supporting its reservist students and staff, including the fundraising campaigns which have attracted generous support from friends around the world.
The Lecture followed an earlier discussion about the war with Professor Robin on Mr Amsterdam’s podcast, Departures – A dispatch from Israel, recorded on the 22nd October, 2023.
