The Project

New technologies and the Internet are increasingly touching all aspects of society and, as such, the intersection between law and technology has become a major priority for governments and legal systems around the world.

Widely recognized as a pioneer in this increasingly complex field, the University of Haifa was charged with establishing a national research center to help shape Israel’s national policies related to the internet, new technologies, and the law.

With a firm commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching, the University is home to numerous research centers and academic programs that are at the forefront of addressing contemporary issues involving cybersecurity, e-commerce, freedom of information and privacy issues in the information age.

The Center is playing an important role in promoting our national cyber capabilities, improving Israel’s preparedness to deal with the current and future cyberspace challenges, and ensuring that Israeli academics have a seat at the table at international cybersecurity conferences.
