
Scientists Unlock Key to Drought-Resistant Wheat Plants

The device, developed by Israeli company OutSense, clips onto the toilet and operates automatically, non-invasively, discreetly and without active user intervention. In addition to being 90% accurate in detecting traces of blood in stool — a possible sign of disease — the technology can also detect dehydration and urinary tract infections using multispectral optical sensors. Dr. Tali Treibitz, who heads the Marine Imaging Lab at the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences, is a key member of OutSense’s leadership team.
